The Blue Sky Sunrays played their second home game of the WISL season Saturday, July 25th at Blue Sky Sports Center in The Colony and won 7-1 against the Austin Amp’d. The game was a tight game through the first three quarters as the score at the end of the third was 4-1. The Sunrays broke the game open to start the 4th quarter as Teresa Eamma scored both of her goals in the period and Player of the Game, Marilyn Rodriguez, scored her third goal of the game.
The game started off with the Sunrays scoring two goals to none in the first quarter. The Austin Amp’d came back and scored in the second to make it 2-1 and then the Sunrays answered with another goal to end the half at 3-1. The Sunrays tallied two more in the third period before finishing out the last quarter with their three goals.
The Austin Amp’d proved to be a worthy opponent of the Sunrays. In the first game of the season the Sunrays defeated the Amp’d 6-3 as both games between the two teams were physical games.
The Sunrays are off this coming weekend and will travel to Austin for two games the weekend of August 8th and 9th. They will return home for a game at Blue Sky Sports Center in The Colony on August 15th at 3:15.
