The Blue Sky Sunrays women’s Semi-Pro Indoor Team continued their winning ways on Saturday March 20th against the FC Austin team. Their high power offense continued to riddle the goalie from the Austin team with 31 shots on goal. Of those 31 shots 8 of them found the back of the net for an 8-1 win. Teresa Eamma led the barrage with 8 shots on goal, scoring once and dishing out 2 assists. Mari Rodriguez followed a close second behind Eamma with 6 shots on goal, scoring 2 goals and dishing out 1 assist. Other Sunrays to find the back of the net were Deb Valeri with 1 goal and 1 assist, Tina Contreras with 1 goal, newcomer Brooke Bowman with 2 goals and Alicia Gutierrez with 1 goal. Anna Alaman also recorded one assist. FC Austin never really threatened the Sunrays in the first half of the game with the score at the end of the first two quarters at 7-0. The second half was a bit closer as FC Austin played a more physical game and held the Sunrays to 1 goal while notching 1 goal of their own. The goalies for the Sunrays had a fairly easy game with the defense of the Sunrays only allowing 9 shots on goal by FC Austin the entire game. The Sunrays take the pitch again this Saturday, March 27th, at 3:15pm at Blue Sky Sports Center in The Colony.
